Happiness is mostly a by-product of doing what makes us feel fulfilled.
As a baby of the late 1940's suckling at my mother's breast was all that was needed
As a child of the 1950's just riding a tricycle created happiness
In my young teens the school gatherings of the early 1960's gave illusions of happiness
Late teens/ young adult in the late '60's and early 70's ..no more to be said
Adulthood and we think materialism brings happiness , the money God
It's all a false illusion as we search for the elixir of life

and that one may drown![]()
One can still pursue happiness by going on holidays, dancing on tables etc.and one still does
but at the end of the day priorities change and now my motto is
IF MY KIDS ARE HAPPY, I'M HAPPY
Happiness is the ultimate realization that everything was, and is, exactly as it should be."

Orange please...feeling kind of fruity

The birthday week started yesterday !!
I went to lady's 80th birthday party last night and we danced and laughed.
On Monday I am going to a show at York Opera House with a couple of my dance class friends to see these performers http://www.bellydancesuperstars.com/community/about.php
On Tuesday I am going to a mediterranean restaurant owned by some friends of mine (cheap and cheerful but with a fab atmosphere) and will dining with some old friends from work.
On Friday Bella is coming to stay and we will be having a family meal and on the day itself, Saturday, the girls have instructed me to be ready for an early start(8am) as they are taking me out for the day. They haven't told me where (it's a surprise) all they have said is that i'll need swimming costume, towel, makeup for later and to dress casual smart!
Well....you did ask!

I don't know what's got into me this year, it's usually five cards on the mantlepiece and an Asda cake

Dissatisfaction’s part of my nature ... Adam.

Never fear Adam, when one is young one must always strive in pursuit of happiness.
Occasionally I still get dissatisfied with my life, it took me 60 years to be grateful for what i've got

Yes a very good post thank you. Dissatisfaction is the perogative of the young, at our age we've been there done it and quite happy not to bother again

I have to admit that my feet stay dancing on the floor nowadays but the picture above was taken in a greek restaurant last month and the lady dancing is my (younger) friend.
You are still young enough to find a new direction, good luck with the search.

You seem to be working toward a 101th birthday; I wonder if blog does anything like a monarchical telegram.
-
- 2008-10-22 @ 23:46:24
Wel, if blog doesn't i'll have to petition them then
